Netflix tap into key 13th-century history buff demographic with Marco Polo

Luckily for Netflix, their audience is mostly just as keen as I am on 13th-century China and the court of Kublai Khan, so Marco Polo should be as big a smash as the swimming pool game that also bears his name, which is just as well, seeing as they've spunked $90 million on ten episodes.
Also there's some martial arts and what the press release terms "sexual intrigue", which is nothing if not intriguing. And sexual. Episode drop is on 12 December. Marco!
