Good BBC drama being what it is, they throw you a three-episode bone every once in a while, then you have to wait flipping ages until the next lot. Luther's second season was on our screens about two years ago, and between the first and second he'd gone mental, been on hiatus from the police force and developed a worrying habit of playing Russian roulette every morning. Which leads me to wonder what he's been doing with himself for the last two years.
This might be why he's been away for a while. That and the fact that he goes crackers at the end of every series and needs some time to get his head together.
I don't know the full story, but apparently senior officials became alarmed when he started referring all key decisions to the poster of Luther on his office wall.
Ooooh, Luther's back. And this time, he's mad
. Actually, he's not that mad. I'd been led to believe he would be by that trailer where he smashes up the office backwards. Right, I'm calling Points of View. Is that still on?
